Summer is by far the most popular time of the year to visit Indianapolis due to the wonderful summer attractions. From June through August, the Indianapolis Museum of Art hosts a Summer Nights Film Series with classic American films projected on a giant outdoor screen. Continue the outdoor fun and appreciation of all the natural beauty with the Symphony in the Park in June and July. July is also the time of the Super Weekend at the Brickyard with four thrilling races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Of course, with so many interesting attractions, summer can be the hardest time to find the most affordable hotel rates.

But if NASCAR isn't your cup of tea, plan your visit during the low-rate period in March and April with the understanding that the weather may spontaneously change course.

Known for their “Hoosier hospitality,” citizens of Indianapolis love to share their passion for sports, food, and history with their beloved tourists. One of the most beautiful and enjoyable hidden gems in Indianapolis is the Monon Trail, a 10-mile stretch of converted railroad line.
Now paved over for walkers, bicyclists, and joggers, the Monon Trail is home to luscious eateries. If you love sweets, indulge at the Dancing Donut or the Flying Cupcake — two expert bakeries owned by the same family. For a hearty meal, stop by La Chinita Poblana, which masterfully combines Mexican and Asian flavors into fusion tacos. Connected to the Monon Trail is the Cultural Trail, which is home to active paths, art installations, and incredible Indianapolis restaurants.

But even if you can't drive a stick shift, you can rev up the booking of your trip to this lovely city. Besides, you will not need speedy wheels in tracking down the cultural trails and historical sites. The city is only next to Washington when it comes to the number of memorials. Among the ones that Monument Circle houses are Medal of Honor and USS Indianapolis Memorials. Start revving up your engines or just have fun at the backseat as the cars start to roll in the Brickyard during NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Racing enthusiasts should visit the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum to know more about the best people in the field. If racing is not your thing, make a stop at several other types of museums and art galleries across the city. Art lovers and history buffs will surely find Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art and James Whitcomb Riley Museum.
