First must say that front desk staff was friendly and professional. High marks for them. Two nights in town with family for college orientation. Two rooms. Both smelled musty. Bathroom in one room had no soap, etc. Toilet seat and bathtub worn and stained. Toilet had low pressure and had to be flushed numerous times to clear. Second Room: Mold stain on ceiling above tub. Toilet had to be flushed numerous times to clear and eventually had to get plunger from front desk. While using towel to dry face after shower, had to unwrap long blonde hair from my ear. None of us are blonde. New gas station being built next door. First night one room was awoken around two am to the sound of power tools (drills, saws, etc) and a radio playing loud enough to keep them awake for a couple of hours. No room service performed on the rooms. It was made clear that the booking through the hotel website that there were no refunds. Perhaps this is why. We still considered forfeiting the second night and going as far as Chesapeake, VA (45 min) if needed, but decided to stick it out. We will be visiting Elizabeth City again over the next four years, but this is our last stay at Hampton Inn.
