Christie Pits Park, previously known as Willowvale Park, in Toronto, Canada, is a public recreational site. The park was named after Christie Street and the Christie Sand Pits, which were in the area in the early 1900s. The street and the pits were named after William Mellis Christie, a co-founder of a cookie company. The immediate area surrounding Christie Street and Christie Pits Park includes a Korean and Latin American population.The park sprawls over 21 acres, which includes three baseball diamonds, basketball courts, ice rink, a multi-purpose field for soccer, football and rugby, splash pad, and pool.
