Hôtel Place d'Armes is Old Montreal's first boutique hotel that is only a few steps away from the Notre Dame Basilica, the Montreal Convention Centre and within walking distance of downtown Montreal. This hotel is merging old and new together in a sophisticated way. The property is in a historic building when you enter the hotel you are greeted by a elegant modern lobby with high ceilings and check in area. The grandiose lobby leads to the Japanese Restaurant, an English Pub and a library with fireplace. Hotel guests enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese cocktail. 44 luxurious rooms and four suites are are nicely furnished and are featuring a brick wall. All guest rooms are equipped with guest amenities like complimentary High speed Internet, safety deposit box and mini bars. The luxurious bathrooms, many of which have double jacuzzis, are designed with black and white marble tiles. There is a conference room with natural light along the rooftop fitness center and terrace.

My only negative complaint is that the shower had no place to put soap or shampoo, etc. everything had to go on the floor of this beautiful shower. The staff stood out as being so helpful, polite and friendly. Hotel was clean, comfortable and located near everything we hoped to see. Would stay there again.

Chief Concierge Ricardo was very knowledgeable and welcomed us as if he were an old friend greeting us home. In addition, his dining suggestion and procuring reservations were over the top. Our experience with the hotel staff was always pleasant and helpful. The restaurants and their staff were engaging and flavorful. We loved having 701 Restaurant and Bar attached to the lobby, it's evolving menu throughout the day, breakfast to dinner had so many wonderful choices. This is our second time returning to Place d'Armes and we look forward to returning.

We went for my boyfriend's 40th birthday and the hotel gave us a bottle of Champagne for his birthday. The service was amazing. Loved the rooftop patio. Definitely will go to this hotel again.
