It's an oasis of calm from which to explore all that the Mother City has to offer…
The hotel offers guest a chance to experience history while enjoying the most modern standards of services and accommodation, making this prestigious luxury boutique hotel the venue of choice for executives and other discerning travellers.
Guests feel at home among the burnished hardwoods and beautifully exposed original wall niches and murals, perfectly complimented by rich, tasteful furniture and décor that reflects Cape Town's diverse cultural heritage, and radiates the energy of its current cutting edge.
The hotel has fifteen bedrooms and two suites, each one individually appointed to enhance its unique historical character. High style meets deep comfort, and the modern meets the master-crafted, in rooms that feature high-beamed teak ceilings, yellowwood floors and carefully preserved bespoke details – as well as air-conditioning, mini bar, king-sized beds, satellite TV and international power points.
Cape Heritage Hotel is situated in the heart of Cape Town City and provides its visitor with a unique and historic experience unlike any other. Our historic roots run deep into the 18th century. The Cape Heritage Hotel is an integral part of the restored Heritage Square. The earliest Dutch and Georgian houses were built in 1771; the Cape Heritage Hotel building itself was built in the 1780's.
Our main goal is to make you feel as if this is a home away from home. We also endeavor to bring our guests closer to the authentic Cape Town, so we will always entice you to venture off the touristy route and enjoy more of the local gems. The hotel is ideally located for exploring Cape Town on foot, with vibrant Long Street a stone's throw away and the V&A Waterfront and Cape Town International Convention Centre within easy walking distance as well direct access to the business precinct, shopping and fine dining.
All our staff are trained to give the utmost to our guests, and the team works as a big family – just right for our home-from-home ambiance.
Our hotel has just completed sensitive renovations that compliment the natural heritage of the building and bringing in the green alternatives.
Renovations were done in keeping with the history and heritage of the hotel yet reflects the joie de vivre of South Africa and it's dynamic culture.
It is important that we portray an atmosphere of young meets old and Colonial meets Africa without factor.
As one wanders down the passages where time once stood still, your attention is drawn to the art and décor. Walls are adorned with a mix of historical pictures of Bree Sreet and Cape Town as well as creative pieces from local artist such as Richard Scott, Jackson Nkumanda, Ruth Graves, John Angus and many more.
In an Endeavour for guests to experience a real part of Cape Town, we have carefully sourced products from local designers to enhance the local “flavour” of the hotel. Famous residents designer Heath Nash has added a new dimension to light through his artistic lighting concepts using recycled materials that are to be found throughout the hotel, Mielie has contributed to curtaining and puffs who are also made from recycled fabric, whilst Michael from Moonlight Magic has created animal trophies out of wire and paper which portray a stunning atmosphere.
While we spare no effort or detail in providing a unique hospitality experience, the environment is also very important to us, and we do all we can to recycle and preserve our natural resources. At the hotel there are only solar geysers, the cleaning is done with organic cloths and our soaps are all organic.
Social responsibility is also close to our heart, which is why we have associated ourselves to Zip Zap Circus school for social change. Zip Zap is an innovative School of Circus Arts, inspiring and empowering young people. Its mission is to take “ordinary” kids (including “youth – at – risk”) and provide them with the resources to develop skills through the medium of Circus Arts that will develop them as young leaders, good citizens, ambassadors for South Africa, and make them eminently employable. We are also strong supporters of the local producers and township crafts people.
We bought this unique and fantastic hotel in June 2007, and have loved every minute of watching our guests revel in it. We hope you have a wonderful stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you back many times.
