FYNBOS RIDGE has won numerous national awards for the high standard of our hospitality and has again been given a 5 star grading by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. These are a reflection of our commitment to offering our guests exceptional hospitality in the peaceful surroundings of our Private Nature Reserve. Nestling in six hectares of fynbos (Cape flora) with magnificent views of the Tsitsikamma mountains FYNBOS RIDGE is situated in the warm heart of the Garden Route less than 10 minutes from Plettenberg Bay and 20 minutes from Knysna. Nature lovers will be enchanted by the beautiful fynbos which attracts a wide variety of birds, butterflies and small mammals. FYNBOS RIDGE COUNTRY HOUSE is a large Cape Colonial style guest house and has 5 en suite double bedrooms. Our superior luxury bedroom has an extra large king-size bed and leads onto its own vine covered patio. Two of the four luxury en suite bedrooms have king-size beds and two have 2 x three-quarter beds which can be made up into large king-size beds. Two of the first floor bedrooms have their own balconies with spectacular forest and mountain views. Overhead fans, towel warmers and bathroom heaters add to the luxury. Both the formal and informal lounges have fireplaces and there is a long outdoor patio leading off the alfresco dining room where guests can enjoy mountain views whilst having their breakfasts. We know have a resident chef and will provide meals on request. FYNBOS RIDGE COTTAGES consists of three secluded two bedroomed Cape country cottages and a one bedroomed self-catering spacious studio/apartment with its own private entrance. Each of our spacious two bedroomed self-catering cottages (140 sq. metres) is well equipped and offers luxury with privacy. The main bedroom has a king-size bed with bathroom en suite whilst the other bedroom, on the opposite side of the cottage, has 2 or 3 single beds and a shower room. Overhead fans, towel warmers and bathroom heaters ensure the total comfort of our guests. Apart from the tasteful furnishings, there are log fires in the lounge and main bedroom for the cooler evenings, as well as a private patio with a built-in barbecue. On one side of the Country House, with its own separate entrance, is the equally well appointed self-catering studio/apartment (70 sq. metres). This has a queensize bed, a bathroom with bath and shower, a fully equipped kitchen and a balcony with a barbecue. Each of our self-catering units has a television and hi-fi set and is fully serviced on a daily basis.

With the assistance of an ecologist and Cape Nature Conservation we have a program in place to remove all alien vegetation and re-plant a wide variety of indigenous trees and shrubs. Our commitment to the environment has been recognised by Cape Nature Conservation through their proclamation of FYNBOS RIDGE as a Private Nature Reserve. In addition we have been designated a Birder Friendly Establishment by BirdLife South Africa. Our actions to protect the environment and conserve natural resources include the following :- Installed a biological sewage treatment plant. Installed solar heating. Use only biodegradable cleaning products. Recycle refuse wherever possible. Use ozone to purify swimming pool water. Avoid the use of herbicides and pesticides
