Property Description
Hotel International Brno is a luxury four-star hotel just below the Špilberk Castle. Less than 100 meters from Námesti Svobody (Brno's central square), yet sensitively apart from the historic face of the city. This important heritage-listed functionalist building dating back to 1962 was influenced by the architecture of the pre-war Bauhaus (or International Style) as well as by Brazilian architecture of Oscar Niemeyer. A great sight is the hotel interior, decorated with a series of original art works, mainly in "Brussels style" - the only artistic avant-garde style of the second half of the 20th century in which Czechoslovakia reached the world level. The unique construction of the hotel with its visual and architectural design left its mark on the face of Brno and ranks among the largest and highest-quality modern buildings in Brno of the 20th century.
