Lovely staff great room only down side when booking was quoted £89 and was charged £130.31 a huge difference, was told it would be looked into but to date never heard anything back ..so be careful when booking..

The new building could accommodate 56 seamen, 9 officers and if necessary, up to 50 shipwrecked sailors could be housed in the attics. The building was also known for being a house of ill repute… sailors will be sailors! As the need for this type of home diminished, the property lay empty for several years before being refurbished in 1994, when an impeccably dressed Glaswegian called Ken McCulloch had the idea for a 'daft wee hotel'… and from there Malmaison was born. Without Ken, there would be no Mal today. A major refurbishment of the hotel was undertaken in 2016. All bedrooms and suites have been fully re-styled, the reception, bar and brasserie have been transformed, bringing Chez Mal to Edinburgh!
