At our hotel you will NOT find:
television, newspapers, music, animators, air conditioner, minibar, swimming pool, nightlife ... the Twisted Palms is a simple and relaxing place!
Our 10 rooms are furnished with double beds (9 of them with an extra single bed), fan (air conditioner is not necessary as there is always a breeze), windows and bed mosquito nets, ensuite bathroom with shower and hot water and a private veranda to relax in. Rooms are decorated with furnishings from Zanzibar.
Hill
If you want the privacy of a bungalow just by yourself, where tranquillity is ensured by the huge tropical garden, then the Hill Room is exactly what you need. Here your view gets lost between the green of coconut palms and the iridiscent blue of the Indian Ocean. There are some steps to climbe, but you will have to make some training ... or not?
Beach
If all the exercise you have planned during the holiday is stirring your coffee or moving from hammock to sunbed, then your perfect location is the beach room. You will take off your shoes at your arrival and you will put them back on reluctanctly on your departure.
The restaurant is located in the beachside stilt house and overlooks the sea. The menu includes traditional Zanzibar fare, as well as Italian cuisine reworked the Islander way. Fish is the main ingredient, and comes to us directly from local fischermen. The imagination of our Chef combines the flavour of fresh fish with rice, vegetables, spices and coconut to create delicious traditional dishes.
In the evening you can enjoy a candle lit dinner under the African sky accompanied by the magic sound of the Indian Ocean : it will be a great experience!
The cafe, also situated on the stilt house, offers not only African coffee, spicy infusions and fresh fruit juices, but also a good choice of international wines and liqueurs.
If relaxation is the main purpose of your holiday, you have found the right place!
You could laze in our hammock and swing in the shade of coconut trees, refreshed by the breeze of the Indian Ocean. The long white beach is perfect for solitary walks accompanied by the sound of the ebb and flow of the tides.
If otherwise you want to use the Twisted Palms as a base from which to explore the Island, we can suggest the best excursions for you to take.
You could try the emotion to swim with dolphins in Kizimkazi.
You could admire the Red Colobus monkeys, protected species, in the Jozani Forest.
You could enjoy a full day excursion with Blue Safari, with a boat trip, relaxing on the sandbank and barbecue on the beach.
You could discover the secrets and the origins of many kind of spices on a Spice Tour.
You could reach the reef by a Ngalawa, a traditional local boat, and snorkel in the Indian Ocean.
And of course you could visit the capital, Stone Town.
... or you could visit Bwejuu village and get to know real local life away from tourism. The schoolchildren, the herbalist and other local people will say "Karibu“ to you.
