Welcome to Toronto
The capital of Ontario - Toronto - is Canada's most populated city with 2.6 million residents. In fact, it's the fourth largest city in all of North America and a massive tourist destination known for its rich culture and vibrant nightlife. The hub of industry and finance attracts business people from around the globe, while vacationers come to explore the deep-rooted history of the locale. It was once the home of various Iroquois and Wyandot tribes until French settlement in the 1700s began the area's development into a major metropolis. In the 1960s, the city turned into a massive melting pot, attracting a diverse array of people with its welcoming immigration policies (today, more than 80 ethnicities live in harmony in this city).
Along with its unique heritage, the city is renowned for its stunning natural beauty coupled with its exquisite architecture. It's laid out along Lake Ontario's northwestern shore and is known for its massive expanses of green space all throughout, such as Rogue Park and South Humber Park. It's also home to a stunning multitude of colorful gardens and two different conservatories: Allan Gardens and Centennial Park.
