The Verizon Center is the home rink and home court of the Georgetown Hoyas men's NCAA basketball team, the National Hockey League's Washington Capitals, and the NBA Washington Wizards and WNBA Washington Mystics. It has played host to many major sporting events including:

Travelers will find the Verizon Center easy to locate. It offers a mobile app to assist fans in planning their excursion, and there are easy-to-follow signs throughout the downtown area leading to the arena. The Galaxy Place-Chinatown Metro station is immediately beneath the Center with several other stations nearby. The Verizon Center's parking garage is open only for handicap parking during Wizards and Capitals games, but there are more than a dozen other parking garages in the area. Pre-paid parking may be obtained online through the Center's partnership with Parking Panda with the option to print verification from your home computer or to download it to your smartphone. Concession choices are many and varied. Vendors offer products which are gluten-free, kosher, and vegan in addition to menu items like chicken, chili, hot dogs, and sandwiches with beverages from Aquafina, Lipton, Pepsi, and Tropicana. Several restaurants, clubs, bars, and cafes meet the needs of fans. Besides the regular stadium seating, the Verizon Center houses several areas of premium seating. Food and beverage packages are complimentary in the 100+ luxury rental suites available for Wizards and Capitals games. These suites provide 50” flat-screen televisions, coat closets, private restrooms, and wet bars. Lower level Loge Boxes have private entrances and dedicated staff. And the members-only Acela Club includes an elegant buffet along with an a la carte menu, concierge service, and reserved seats for all Wizards and Capitals games.
