Property description
Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa is a distinctive destination for Okanagan meetings and retreats of up to 120 people. A favourable year round climate, dramatic landscape and Lake Okanagan make for an inspiring backdrop for productive meetings, visioning sessions and rejuvenating corporate retreats.Set on a secluded stretch of Lake Okanagan shoreline, 15 minutes north of Penticton, the Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa offers an all-inclusive resort experience. The beachfront resort features 115 condo-style suites each with living room, fireplace and full kitchen. Lake view suites offer balconies with breath-taking views. Enjoy the resort's two outdoor hot tubs, outdoor pool with sundeck, barbecues, beach, fire pit, fitness room, Bistro, day spa, and boat rentals – all onsite.The town of Summerland is located centrally in the Okanagan with Kelowna, BC 45 minutes to the north, Penticton, BC 15 minutes to the south and Vancouver, BC a pleasurable 4 hour drive. The Kelowna international airport allows for convenient access to the south Okanagan through shuttle service, taxi or car rentals. Westjet and Air Canada offer daily flights into Kelowna from a number of major Canadian cities. Regional air access is available into Penticton airport on Air Canada Jazz.
Green sustainability
The Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa is committed to the environment. As a member of the Hotel Association of Canada’s Green Key program, the resort hotel was one of only 20 hotels in British Columbia to receive the rating of four keys out of five. The biggest component of the hotel’s energy efficiency strategy is a state-of-the-art geothermal system. The geothermal system draws naturally occurring heat from the earth to provide the hotel’s cooling and heating systems, including heating of the year round outdoor pool and two hot tubs. The resort also encourages green behavior from their guests by providing recycling bins in all suites and common areas, and giving the option of reusing linens and towels. With preserved wetlands located right on the property, other earth-friendly technologies used by the resort hotel include the use of LED and compact fluorescent lights in all guest room and common areas and energy-efficient geothermal heating and cooling.
