"What A Disaster."

We were never informed that the hotel is undergoing a renovation. From walking around and around the place trying to find the front desk so we could check in, to the breakfast, this was an unmitigated disaster. The mattress was too firm to be comfortable. The phone in our room smelled when I picked it up to use it. At breakfast, there was no oatmeal, no bacon, the eggs were just awful. There is no excuse for the absolutely horrible little plastic forks and knives that bent when trying to cut something while using them. Beyond cheap garbage. Renovation or not, there's no excuse. Then while trying to eat, an employee pushing a laundry cart went through the breakfast room twice! It was so loud and like hearing an industrial machine over a tile floor. Incredibly loud! And my arm stuck to the table when I got up. The only plus to his stay was that the two young ladies at the front desk when we checked in were very helpful. We've stayed at this hotel before and it has been acceptable, but between the renovation and the complete lack of attention to detail in the breakfast room, this was beyond awful.
