The Quality Inn Erie is one of the closest hotels to Presque Isle Downs and Casino (they do have a shuttle to take you there in the evenings). This hotel is older but has done lobby/entry renovations within the last year and working on more this year. The hotel features a courtyard area with outdoor pool, sun deck, volleyball net and in the summer there is a Tiki Bar that is connected to the Black Jax Sports Bar and Grill. Black Jax serves dinner and the bar is opened until 2am; they are also known for their “Black Jax Twist Wings” that won Best of Erie 2013 Wings cook off. I got to try this wings first hand and would agree with the judges plus the service was excellent! Other hotel amenities include comp breakfast, WIFI, frigs and microwaves in guest rooms. If you are looking to host an event, the hotel has a main ballroom that can host approx. 250 guests with an approved outside caterer. This hotel is good for the leisure traveler especially religious groups, family reunions, bus tours or sports teams.
