The Westin Wilmington

The Westin Wilmington is the newest hotel in the area, officially opened April 17th, 2014. They are connected to the Chase Center, near the Shipyard and next to a growing area with restaurants including Iron Hill Brewery, Joe’s Crab Shack and shops popping up all over. This hotel features a contemporary, modern feel with a huge lobby, tons of natural light and plants plus living room like pods for socializing or catching up on work. On one side of the lobby they have the River Rock Kitchen that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner has seasonal outdoor seating or enjoy a cocktail at Lounge 818. The other side has a sundries shop and largest meeting room of 1600 sq ft. or in case your main meeting is at the Chase Center you are connected without going outside. The second floor has additional breakout rooms and a law center with small offices, desks, kitchen area. Enjoy the hotel amenities by lounging next to the indoor pool, work out in the gym or take a run with the General Manager in the workout gear through the “lend program.” Each guest room features refrigerator, safes, Starbucks coffee and valet guest laundry service. There is plenty of free parking around the hotel, if you want to head into the heart of Wilmington catch DART (public transportation) or leisurely walk down the “River Walk.” With great staff members that I met and service received; I would recommend this hotel to any traveler for business, convention and wedding room blocks or just for a quick getaway.
