The Yuba City center point is about 3 miles northwest of Yuba County Airportn and 6 miles northwest of Marysville Amtrak Station.
Being in California, Yuba City is relatively warm all year. Being in Northern California, however, it can get somewhat chilly at night in the winter. In fact, January lows average around 35 degrees F which may be too cold for warm-weather travelers. The summer is notably hot with highs around 97 degrees F in July. For the most part, summer temperatures stay within the mid-70s in terms of average mean. Meanwhile, significant lows don't really occur outside of winter.
If you're looking to stay dry on your trip, traveling during summer is your best bet. Both July and August get no rain whatsoever, while June gets a mere 0.4 of an inch. The rainiest season is winter, with December featuring a daily chance of rain at 24 percent and 3.7 inches of total precipitation throughout the month. If you plan on traveling during one of the shoulder months, fall tends to be drier with September getting very little rain at all.
Traveling during the fall may be especially useful for those looking for discounts since the travel season is relatively slow. Most traveling happens during the summer, reaching its peak in July. The slowest month, on the other hand, is December despite the sharp increase in travelers in January and February. In fact, January and February tend to be busier than March, despite spring starting that month, likely due to the winter attractions in Yuba City. To be safe, though, book far in advance unless you're traveling in late fall or early winter.

While there are plenty of incredible attractions to enjoy in Yuba City, you cannot afford to miss the Sikh Festival if you're in town in November. It's one of the largest gatherings in Northern California in which Sikhs and non-Sikhs alike are welcome to partake. During the festival, you can enjoy a parade with numerous floats and participants that travel through a 4.5-mile stretch. Another one-of-a-kind attraction here is Sutter Buttes, the smallest mountain range in the world. Covered in greenery, these mountains tower over green open fields and provide great hiking opportunities.
For outdoor adventure, you can venture through the Sutter Bike Trail. It stretches 9 miles and is notably flat, so it's a great place if you're looking for a relaxing easy ride. For more strenuous activity, you can test your strength hiking one of the difficult paths at Middle Mountain Foundation Interpretive Hikes, though there are easy paths as well. For a test of wits, you can attempt to crack the code at NorCal Escape Co.

It's certainly grown since I was born 71 years ago. I really only was there for family visit and didn't go sightseeing. Although we did like the breakfast menu at Lumberjack's.
