Due to its location in the Jackson metro area, Ridgeland can get fairly crowded in the summer months, resulting in higher hotel rates. Not only that, there are many local families flocking to nearby attractions. Ridgeland doesn't get as crowded in the summer as most major cities; however, there is the 90-degree heat to consider. If you do visit during the summer, you can easily find a reprieve from the heat by visiting one of the city's indoor attractions or retail centers.
As the weather cools down in the fall, so do Ridgeland's hotel prices. Highs average around 77 degrees in October, making the fall season a particularly pleasant time to visit. You can also enjoy a number of fall events, including the wildly popular Renaissance at Colony Park.
Winters in Ridgeland are generally mild, with average lows hovering in the mid-30s from December through February. While it isn't enough to discourage visitors from strolling through town, you will want to bring a few extra layers just in case you need to bundle up in the evening. Best of all, winter offers some of the best hotel rates in Ridgeland. Just be sure to avoid holiday weeks, as these can get a little pricey.
Green, picturesque city that it is, there's nothing quite like a visit to Ridgeland in the spring. With the budding flowers and the scent of nature in the air, it's the perfect time to explore the waterfront or the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway. Hotel rates also remain low, giving you even more reason to plan your springtime getaway in Ridgeland.

The Ridgeland is a nice quaint town which offers a relaxing environment if you trying to escape the huddle and bussle of big city life.
Freedom Park is beautiful and we also visited Target and the Zoo. The zoo is in a rough part of town, but we had no issues, but if you go to the zoo make sure to go to the splash pad first because they close it 30 minutes early for events and do not tell you this.
I was in the city to visit my mom in the hospital. I didn't really have time to visit the area but it was convenient to the hospital and I felt safe there. the nest time I return for leisure, I would like to do some shopping at Renaissance at Colony Park.
