There is really no bad time to visit Orange. Whether you're seeking to escape brutal winters or sizzling summers in your native city, Orange provides a respite all year long. The warmest part of the year is from late July to early September, when temperatures may reach as high as 85 degrees. On the flip side, the coldest time of the year is in December and January, when temperatures can reach as low as 45 degrees, though such extreme temperatures are rare. For the majority of the year, you can count on Orange's climate to hover right around 65 degrees, which is the perfect temperature for all activities.
Since the weather is perfect all year long, deciding on the best time to visit Orange depends on what activities you plan to enjoy and when you can find the best hotel rates. Like the weather, hotel rates in Orange stay fairly consistent throughout the year, especially from March through October. From November through February, rates drop by about $10 per night at most hotels. Luckily, Orange offers several great value hotels to fit any budget.
If you're looking to save a few bucks each night on lodging, opt to visit Orange during the winter months. Temperatures are still comfortable and range from the low 50s to the low 70s throughout the winter — and if the area is blindsided by one of its occasional rainstorms, Orange is packed with great indoor activities.
However, if you want to take advantage of Orange's gorgeous outdoor beauty and fun amusement parks, visit Orange between March and October. Depending on the types of activities you're planning to enjoy, you may want to steer clear of visiting nearby attractions like Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm in July and August, when children are out of school for the summer and families flock to sunny Southern California. Rather, plan to visit while school is still in session, in the spring and fall months.

Less than 15 miles away from the heart of Orange is the world-famous Disneyland amusement park. As a result, Disneyland is one of the most special amusement parks in the nation, offering hidden items to find all over the park and tons of trivia game opportunities. Just five minutes past the Disneyland park is another wonderful, magical family destination: Knott's Berry Farm. This 160-acre park is the 12th most popular amusement park in the nation. Built on the site of the berry farm formerly run by Walter and Cordelia Knott, Knott's Berry Farm includes forty roller coasters and other rides for people of all ages. Knott's Berry Farm loves to celebrate classic American holidays like Halloween by hosting Knott's Scary Farm throughout the month of October. During the month of November, Knott's Berry Farm offers free admission to military veterans and their families. In December, join the holiday magic at Knott's Merry Farm with a visit from Santa, (fake) snow, and amazing holiday twists around the park.
