The Lake Orion center is about 3 miles northeast of Canterbury Village and 7 miles north of Oakland University.
When planning a trip to Lake Orion, it's important to take into consideration factors like weather and the tourism season. If you're looking for ideal weather, mid-May through mid-July is the time to go.
However, you'll also travel during the peak tourist season in that case. July is the busiest month when it comes to tourism in Lake Orion, with August and June following. As a result, prices on flights and hotels will be more expensive during these months. Book your trip well in advance to find savings during peak tourist season. December is the least crowded month in terms of tourists, so if you're willing to brave the weather, you'll find good deals then.
In the fall, the period from September through November, daily highs can range from the high 70s to the low 40s. This will feel pretty chilly, thanks to the wind and humidity. The season also sees significant precipitation. Because of this, tourism is at its lowest during the fall months. You'll have less than ideal weather, but hotels are typically priced affordably if you plan your trip then.
Winter in Lake Orion is cold. The average high from December through February is between the mid-30s and high 20s. It rains or snows sometimes, too, so it's also a slow time of year for tourism.
Things start to pick up in the spring, the period from March through May. Though the temperatures combined with the humidity can make the weather feel moderately cold, highs range from the low 30s all the way up to the high 70s in the later months. Spring is the second-busiest season for tourism, so you'll find plenty to do in Lake Orion.
The summer months, from June through August, boast comfortable temperatures. Not surprisingly, this means it's the busiest season in the area. Book early if you want a summer getaway — you'll find that accommodations can cost more than usual during the summer months.
