Below are reviews of the city of Hood River, OR from an actual visitor's perspective.
Brewery and dinner was nice.
It's a lovely little town in a beautiful setting between the Columbia River and Mt Hood. Many excellent wineries in the general area, together with the infamous "Fruit Loop", make it where there's always something to do.
Hood River is a quaint town with good restaurants. Very few chain businesses which imho is a plus!
Wonderful shops, lots of art, incredible views.
The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable.

The room was clean and comfortable. Hood River is breathtaking. River views, mountain views, great park by the river, and great restaurants. Great hiking and biking trails as well.
For those who aren't merely visiting family and seeing Hood River for what it can offer you'll have four seasons of activities: year round hiking, skiing and other snowy activities, known for kite surfing and wind sailing, fishing. The town has many great eateries for all occasions, from casual to formal, many wineries are showcased as are breweries. Fun shops to peruse in quaint period buildings. A beautiful town in a beautiful location. Take a day train to a nearby town to see fruit orchards, head back west on I-84 and catch a paddle wheeler for a trip up the Columbia. Lots of little nearby towns to explore too.
Nice!
The town is quaint and well kept up.
Only drove through the city but thought it was quaint and nice.
Walkable, lots of places to eat and drink. Lots of access to the outdoors and nearby wineries.
The views of the Columbia River Gorge and mountains are majestic. You'll see tall towering Douglas Fir Pines everywhere!
Fantastic wine tasting, food options, hiking and shopping. If you haven't tried the White Buffalo, check it out. Great wine and food, and Mary is the BEST!
The best breakfast ever at Egg River Cafe. A great bookstore with delightful arrangements of books: Waucoma Bookstore on Oak Street. Terrific steak dinner at Mesquitery & The Ashes Bar on 12th street. Mike's on Oak Street has ice cream that is a real treat.
Beautiful and scenic!
Great restaurants! Very picturesque.
Nice town, clean and has everything a visitor could want!
Nice little town, did the River Cruise with the "Mayor" at the controls. Hood River has what ever you'll need for your vacation. Room 331 is a great view!
Great little stores for window shopping!
Great little stores to look around and window shop.
Loved the city and the bartender at the hotel. The food was good.
Nice, clean city.
Good places to eat nearby.
Wish we had more time to explore as there appear to have been lot of activities that we could not do secondary to limited time.
