The Cape Canaveral center is around the area of Port Canaveral and 1 mile southeast of Port Canaveral.
Cape Canaveral has a largely tropical climate and has some of the best weather in the country. The area is known for its long summers, short winters, and wonderful hot temperatures and the cooling effects of the ocean breezes. Average summer temperatures stay in the 80s and 90s, but the area does get up to 100 degrees on some days. The weather is really humid, but being close to the beach, wind helps keep the weather comfortable. It is incredibly sunny, though, so visitors should be aware of how much water they're drinking and that they're wearing sunscreen.
Visitors also need to know that this area is in a hurricane zone and can be known for stormy and wet weather. This means that from June to November, Cape Canaveral and its beaches will get heavier rainfalls and potential tropical storms or hurricanes. Winter temperatures will be in the 50s at night and the low 70s during the day, with low average rainfall rates. Though it can get pretty cool, the long summer season and gorgeous weather make up for those brief colder months.
There are all different types of discounts, deals, and specials offered at almost any hotel in the Cape Canaveral area. Pretty much every hotel chain, like the Hilton, the Residence Inn, and the Holiday Inn, offers discounts for AARP/AAA/CAA card-carrying members, as well as for military and government employees. Several of these hotels also have club cards and credit cards, which can mean even more points, discounts, and savings for travelers for current for future stays. Certain hotels also offer discounts for extended stays or for large groups, so it pays to book in advance and be on the lookout for those types of deals.
Not traveling during the peak season is also a great way for travelers to Cape Canaveral to save money. The busiest tourist season extends from May to August, so planning a trip for April or September, or even the beginning of May or the end of August, can save visitors a lot of money. Since the weather is so warm and mild throughout most of the year, these months will still make for a very pleasant visit. Avoiding travel during holiday weekends is also another money saving tip, as prices will almost always increase during the holidays.
In addition to the many affordable hotel options, Cape Canaveral has several extremely budget-friendly hotel options for those travelers who are really looking to save their money. Regardless of the price range, Cape Canaveral has the right accommodations for every visitor on any budget. The International Palms Resort and Conference Center Cocoa Beach is a great budget option with summer rates offered at the low price of $65 a night. It has all of the basic amenities a guest could want and is still conveniently located to all that Cape Canaveral has to offer.
Another fantastic and affordable option is the Americas Best Value Inn - Port Canaveral, which beats all other hotel prices at the very low summer rates of $49 a night. Though the location isn't fancy, it gives guests a great, low cost way to stay in the city so they have more in their budget for all of the fun activities in the area. The hotel still has high speed internet, an outdoor pool, and a shuttle to help guests get to and from the airport.
Planning is very important when it comes to getting the best deal for staying in Cape Canaveral. Hotels and other accommodations fill up fast in the summer, so it's vital to get a reservation earlier in the year to secure lower rates. It also helps to check hotel websites to see if they're running any special deals or price cuts for holidays or special events, or to see what types of standing discounts they offer.
