The most popular time to visit Seaside is during the summer, but don't expect your typical warm weather. Seaside has a classic Pacific Northwest coastal climate, with mild and cool summers and rainy winters. From May to September, the average high temperatures stay in the 60s Fahrenheit. August is usually the warmest month of the year, with an average high temperature of 68 degrees. The Pacific Ocean is typically a brisk 55 degrees, so only the bravest will stick their feet in it.
The offseason, which runs from October to April, is a good alternative if you don't want to deal with summer crowds and high hotel prices. During these months, the average high temperatures range from the upper 40s to the lower 50s. This is the wettest season in Seaside, with November, December, and January each seeing around 11 inches of precipitation. Keep in mind that if the temperatures are cold enough, this precipitation turns to snow, so pack warm clothes if you plan on visiting during the winter.
