Terrace, BC is the center of the North Coast Regional District and had a population of around 15,500 people at the 2016 census. It is located approximately 1,150 km from the provincial capital, Victoria, and approximately 1,300 km from Edmonton, the capital of Alberta. The Kitsumkalum River valley forms the northern border of the city and the Skeena River valley forms the southern border.
