If you want a change of pace, come to Sparks, Nevada where the climate is unique and the scenery is beautiful. Though the place is located in the high desert, the climate here is influenced by several factors that make it quite different from the surrounding area. The most notable of these is the Sierra Nevada mountain range, which provides a barrier from the hot, dry air that dominates the Great Basin. This results in cooler temperatures and higher humidity levels than the surrounding desert. Additionally, the destination is located in a rain shadow, meaning that it receives less precipitation than areas to the west. This is due to the fact that the Sierra Nevada range blocks the moisture-laden air that comes in from the Pacific Ocean. This means that the district is relatively dry, but the air is still comfortable and pleasant. Come and enjoy the unique climate that the city has to offer! The best period to come to Sparks is during the fall. From September to November, temperatures are mild and there are plenty of fun events and activities to enjoy. It is a convenient season to explore the great outdoors. Hike through the Toiyabe National Forest or take a scenic drive through the Sierra Nevada. You can enjoy boating, fishing, and camping at one of the many lakes in the area too. And of course, no trip to Sparks would be complete without a visit to the world-famous Reno-Tahoe International Airport. If you're searching for a more urban experience, Sparks hosts a number of great restaurants as well as bars, and shops. Downtown Reno is just a short drive away and offers a wide selection of nightlife and entertainment options.
