The Brooklyn center is approximately the area of Prospect Heights and the area of Whitney Museum of American Art.
With nonstop events, compelling attractions, and something new around every corner, there's never a bad time to visit Brooklyn. Summers tend to get hot, with temperatures in the mid-80s. With numerous street festivals and other events across the borough, summer is a popular and occasionally expensive time to visit. In contrast, winters tend to be cold, with temperatures in the 30s. Many hotels discount rooms during the colder months, so winter is a great time for a budget-friendly trip.
Spring and fall tend to be the most temperate seasons in Brooklyn. Aside from spring break and major fall events, hotel prices are generally moderate during these seasons.
Even if you're traveling during the busy season, you can still save at Brooklyn hotels. AAA members get low rates at Row NYC and the Westin New York at Times Square. Seniors and AARP members save at the Manhattan NYC – An Affinia Hotel and other area hotels. Government employees and members of the military get guaranteed low rates at the Howard Johnson Manhattan SoHo.

Even though Manhattan is not connected to it by land, the best way to get to Brooklyn is to walk across its namesake bridge. The 1883 completion of the Brooklyn Bridge transformed the borough from a spacious suburb that still contained areas of farmland into a bustling city. Stroll or bike across the pedestrian walkway at the center of the bridge for spectacular views of lower Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, and New York harbor as it opens at the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. To the north, you'll see a series of bridges linking Manhattan to other parts of Brooklyn and Queens, as well as the jewel-like tops of the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings. The bridge itself is an exciting piece of engineering and architecture. The Anchorage is the site of art exhibits and concerts, and it's a great place to cool off after a walk across the bridge. Brooklyn was incorporated into New York City in 1898; the remains of its days still exist in the somewhat fragmented downtown. It has the largest population of observant Jews outside Israel, and to get a glimpse of their beliefs and much of the city's history, head to Borough Park.

Brooklyn is absolutely fantastic! I lived in Brooklyn Heights for a year while attending New York Film Academy in Manhattan and it's literally a different experience every other block! Each part of Brooklyn is different from the other; trendy, chill, hustling, metropolitan, industrial, grand, hidden, old (in a good way), new (in a good way), gentrified one place and true to it's origin in another, peaceful, vibrant, quiet, rambunctious! I'm telling you, no two intersections are alike and there are hundreds of thousands!

Brooklyn is flat out friendly. Shopkeepers are courteous, people on the street are willing to chat and give directions and most of the shops and restaurants are locally owned; that's a huge plus for me and my wife.
I love that Brooklyn is walkable, diverse and buzzing with activity. There are lots of incredible restaurants and parks within short distance of each other. It's very lively and beautiful. My favorite of all the NYC boroughs!

Great city. It is safe for a getaway
The city of Brooklyn - has got that small town feel - especially all its little neighborhoods - I think a lot of people if not all - miss that small town feel of years ago - which meant community and knowing our neighbors. We all yearn for that closeness instead of being just one of thousands.
The area of Brooklyn is a great
Loved it
Many of the people in the group had not been to NY. They could not believe how crowded it was. It was exciting and a lot to see.
We were in town to tour Pratt Institute, where my daughter is interested in attending college. We enjoyed being able to walk to our destinations as long as our feet held out! We went down to the DUMBO area for the flea market on Sunday, which was fun. We ended up walking to the Brooklyn Bridge and saw the Statue of Liberty and the new World Trade Center tower. If we had had more time, we would have taken the water taxi over to Manhattan. The food was great every where we went!
Staying in Brooklyn makes for an easy and economical commute into Manhattan.
The restaurants and the areas around it were awesome.
Loved the experience of staying in NY.
Location of our wedding venue was excellent.
I came to visit relatives. Getting to see the Statue of Liberty was a plus.
The Promenade. Excellent food. Interesting Contemporary Art Scene.
I had a very nice time, just too short of a stay. I found the cab drivers to be very friendly.
My daughter just graduated from Pratt, and is planning on living in the area. She is job hunting in the area now, and most likely will be living in Brooklyn. We really like Brooklyn.
Brooklyn Museum was fantastic, with easy parking. If you love heavenly donuts, go to Dough on Lafayette Street. Great ambiance, food, and service at Chez Oskar. And if you are an artist, visit the Brooklyn Art Library, full of sketchbooks from all over the world!
