While you can find plenty to do in Murfreesboro no matter what time of year you visit, your experience can differ significantly depending on the season. If you're not a fan of the heat, you may want to avoid visiting during the summer months. With highs well into the 90s in June, July, and August, the Southern heat will be in full force. The winter months can get cold, however, with January and February commonly delivering freezing temperatures for overnight lows. The spring and fall months continue to be the best if you're looking for a temperate climate.
Rain is fairly common in Murfreesboro throughout the year, but it's rarely all that severe. Most months average around a total of 3 inches of precipitation, but if you're looking to stay dry, traveling during August or October would be your best bet. Rains are the worst in early winter and mid-spring, with a daily chance of rain at about 25 percent. If you want to escape the snow, however, Murfreesboro is the ideal location, as the city receives little snow.
The busy season for travelers is the summer. Despite the hot temperatures, people seem to love this town from June through August, with more people coming through than at any other time of year. As a result, lodging prices may be a bit more costly. The second busiest season is spring. While the temperatures are cooler in the spring, rain is more common, especially in April. Fall is somewhat busy as well, but nowhere near summer and spring levels, so you can expect reduced hotel prices. Winter is the most affordable time to travel, but it's also the coldest.

Murfreesboro has great places to eat and wonderful shopping!
The area we were in was very close to our event, also our purpose. There were many restaurants and stores all around making everything very easy without wasting time traveling around, allowing us to spend more time visiting together rather then traveling about. Also the signage was nice and "tall" making it easy to locate whatever we were looking for.
Met with family to attend graduation at MTSU. Happy time. Ate at Samurai Japanese Steak House, it was delicious, and we also went to Chicago Pizza which was wonderful gathering for us all. We will have good memories of our visit to Murfreesboro.
Plenty of shopping and dining choices. Less traffic and congestion than Nashville.
Lots of nearby restaurants and shopping. We were attending a soccer tournament in Smyrna, which was only 10-15 minutes away by interstate highway. In spite of the new roads and 4+ lane highways, we were caught in two traffic jams.
Nice town.
