The Minot center is about the area of Minot Amtrak Station and the area of Scandinavian Heritage Association.
Minot experiences four distinct seasons, so the best time to visit depends on what you're hoping to experience during your stay. Summers are the best time if you plan on doing any outdoor recreation. Temperatures can get hot, with highs ranging from the mid-70s in June to the low 80s in August. Although Minot doesn't experience a large influx of tourists like many other major cities, hotel rates do tend to peak during the summer, so you can expect to pay slightly higher prices than you would at any other time of the year, especially during the North Dakota State Fair.
Fall is a great time to visit Minot if you're on a budget, but be sure to pack a few layers as the highs average around 55 degrees in October. If you don't mind the chill, fall provides the perfect opportunity for visiting the local zoo or Riverwalk. And if the weather is too chilly for your liking, you can always head indoors to catch a Minot Symphony concert.
Winters in North Dakota can be extremely cold, with highs in Minot averaging just 21 degrees in January. The city also receives an average of 11 inches of snowfall that month, so come prepared with heavy winter gear just in case you find yourself snowed in.
Spring in Minot is unpredictable, with temperature swings occurring daily. While you'll enjoy budget-friendly hotel rates during the spring season, be sure to pack light layers that you can build up or take off according to the day's temperature.
If you plan your trip ahead of time, you can save even more money on your vacation in Minot by taking advantage of discounts.
For those celebrating a special occasion, be sure to research package options that can make your stay even more memorable. Many higher-end hotels, including Hampton Inn & Suites Minot Airport, offer romance packages that include amenities such as a bottle of Champagne, fresh flowers, a box of chocolates, or dinner vouchers. These perks vary by hotel, but it doesn't hurt to ask if special considerations can be made.
Most area hotels also offer special rates to certain types of travelers. Corporate travelers, state or government employees, military families, seniors, AARP members, and AAA members can take advantage of special discounts that can save them as much as 20 percent off the property's best available rates. Just be sure to bring your proof of eligibility with you so you can present it at check-in.
Minot also offers many mid-range hotels that give travelers plenty of bang for their buck.

Regardless of your reasons for visiting Minot, you'll want to do some exploring while you're here. Scandinavian Heritage Park is a must-see as it offers replicas from each of the Nordic countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland. Just a few of the park's features include a Hans Christian Andersen statue, a Danish windmill, a flag display, and the iconic Gol Stave Church Museum, which is a full-size replica of the one in Norway.
The Riverwalk of Minot provides the perfect chance to explore the city on foot. The two-and-a-half-mile walking and biking trail takes you past restaurants, bars, hotels, and shops, making it easy to get from point A to point B while enjoying a little bit of scenery.
Art enthusiasts will want to visit the Taube Museum of Art in downtown Minot. Since 1970, the facility has showcased a number of works intended to educate and entice the public. The museum offers painting classes, art camps, and a gift shop that sells works by both local and regional artists, making it a perfect place to get a souvenir.
Exploring Minot is a fun prospect made even easier by affordable hotels with exceptional amenities. Whether you're looking to splurge on a room or you prefer something more affordable, you can find the perfect hotel in Minot to meet your needs and budget.
