The Parkersburg center is about the area of The Blennerhassett Museum and the area of Camden Clark Memorial Hospital.
The weather in Parkersburg is fantastic if you don't mind a bit of cold. The city is south of the more serious snow storms you can expect in New England and the Great Lakes states, yet north enough to avoid some of the muggier conditions in parts of Virginia. This means that you can visit in the summer and fall to enjoy comfortable highs, with temperatures averaging around 65 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit during those months. Daily highs can exceed 90, though, so do plan for some scorchers. Overall, the town is warm enough for water sports in the Ohio River but not uncomfortably hot.
If you're visiting any time in the winter through early summer, expect an average daily chance of precipitation in the 30 to 35 percent range. Not much rain or snow falls, however, with less than an inch of precipitation averaging every month.
The town is least busy in January and February, with temperatures in the winter months averaging around 30-45 degrees with a chance to experience lows in the negatives. Be prepared for some chilly days if you're visiting in the fall or winter. An influx of tourists arrives in spring, and the town stays busy through fall and early winter. With so many outdoor activities available in the surrounding area, summer and fall are great seasons for a visit to Parkersburg.
