The Port Saint Lucie center is approximately 3 miles southeast of First Data Field and 4 miles east of PGA Village.
You can visit Port Saint Lucie at any time of year and enjoy excellent weather, though summers can get a little too hot for some travelers. Though this city experiences more rainfall than most other U.S. cities, you'll experience less precipitation if you visit in the late summer and early fall. Waiting until later in the year will allow you to enjoy milder temperatures and fewer crowds.
If you want to save money on your hotel stay in Port Saint Lucie, consider booking your room several weeks in advance. Several establishments, such as the Homewood Suites, offer early-bird discounts that can shave as much as 10 percent off your bill. The Homewood Suites also offers a discount for AAA members. Just flash your membership card when you check in.
Even if you can't find any discounts, you might enjoy oustanding value at some of Port Saint Lucie's budget-friendly but amenity-rich hotels.
For instance, room rates at the Hilton Garden Inn at PGA Village/Port St. Lucie start at just $88. It offers a convenient location off I-95 and features opulent, traditional furnishings and decor. From the high-ceilinged lobby to your cozy guest room, you'll feel at home from the moment you arrive. On-site amenities include a pool and outdoor patio, a gift shop, luggage-hold services, a concierge, coin laundry machines, and safety deposit boxes. There's also a fitness room and a business center.
Rooms and suites at this establishment feature complimentary Wi-Fi, microwaves, refrigerators, and ergonomic desks. You can watch premium cable channels on your flat-screen television and make coffee in the morning with your coffeemaker. Every weekday morning, you'll find a free newspaper in front of your room's door, and the bathrooms feature signature bath products.
You might also consider staying at the Hampton Inn & Suites Port St. Lucie, West. You'll spend as little as $81 per night at this hotel, which sits fewer than five minutes from the PGA Village. The business center at this establishment offers express mail, fax, and printing services as well as computers for guest use. Free continental breakfasts will help you shave money off your travel bill every morning, and if you're traveling with a small child, the hotel will furnish you with a crib at no extra charge.
The contemporary guest rooms at the Hampton Inn & Suites Port St. Lucie, West feature bold accent walls, flat-screen televisions, pillowtop mattresses, and modern artwork. If you want more space, consider booking a suite, which adds a separate living area and television as well as a kitchenette and a dinette table. Whirlpool baths add even more luxury to your space, and the WaterPik showerheads add upscale style.
While many people come to Port Saint Lucie for the PGA golf course, you don't want to miss this city's beautiful beaches. Frederick Douglass Beach is perhaps the most popular, especially if you enjoy beachcombing, horseback rides on the sand, or fishing. It's also a dog-friendly stretch of shore, so don't leave Fido at the hotel if you've brought him on vacation.
Meanwhile, Pepper Park Beach is perfect for sports enthusiasts. In addition to surfing, bodyboarding, and other water sports, this beach also has beach volleyball nets and a basketball court. Experienced divers might also want to bring their scuba gear so they can explore the wreckage of the famed Urca de Lima vessel.
For social and commercial pursuits, you can't go wrong with Jaycee Beach. It's a family friendly choice with lots of umbrellas and lounge chairs. Restaurants and small shops line the beach, and there are boat ramps if you feel like setting sail. It's also the safest beach for swimming thanks to the buoyed areas. Stick to these stretches of water if you're introducing your kids to the surf for the first time.
Port Saint Lucie might not have the reputation of Miami or Fort Lauderdale, but it's an excellent choice if you're hoping to have a spectacular beach vacation in Florida.

Port Saint Lucie is a very nice city and I liked a lot, I will try to come back again.
Love it here.
It's close enough to the beaches but has lots of options for entertainment and fun. It's also very close to Jupiter and Hobe Sound. Jupiter has an endless variety of things to do. Hobe Sound is the opposite just a laid back place on the east coast with a friendly vibe and a secluded beach.
Access to shopping and restaurants.
Very peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. I have family living in the area and I always enjoy our get togethers.
Friendly people and has everything a person needs all within a few miles. Seemed like a very well planned development.
