We were in Newbury for the races and wherever you stay in the town you can easily walk to the course. We had a drink by the river watching the river boats go past. In the evening we sat outside the Nepalese Lounge, it was set in a courtyard with lovely hanging baskets. If you haven't tried Nepalese, give it a go, you will not be disappointed and the staff was so welcoming and friendly we had a fab evening.
The races were very good and the hotel was ideal for us and this event!
We enjoyed walking along the canal. Shopping was good. We only had a two night stay as we were there for a race so we didn't have a lot of time to explore but there was a nice feel about the town.
