The Weatherford center is about the area of Downtown Weatherford and the area of Museum of the Americas.
Summer is the most popular time of year to visit Weatherford, thanks to rodeos and the famous Parker County Peach Festival. Hotel demand and prices go up during this time, so it's important to book your hotel early. You should also prepare for triple digit temperatures and moderate humidity that overwhelms Weatherford from late May to early September.
From mid-September through November, the temperatures finally cool off, providing pleasant weather. This change in weather makes it conducive to exploring the city on foot or visiting one of the many parks in the area. If you don't mind the drive, Weatherford is an excellent place to stay during football season, providing cheap accommodation for Dallas Cowboys games. Hotel demand drops during this time, so you can find your accommodations of choice at cut-rate prices.
During winter, expect to find the best rates of the year on hotels in Weatherford. Few events happen in the city or the surrounding area from December to February, but if you're in town to visit family or you just want the city to yourself, there's no better choice. Temperatures hover between the 40s and the 60s, but if you're used to harsher weather, it will seem like a nice break from the cold.
Spring has similar temperatures to the fall, but you also get to enjoy the blooming flowers and foliage of the area. If you're a baseball fan, you can stay in Weatherford, and Globe Life Park, the home of the Texas Rangers, is only 45 minutes away. When they're playing out-of-town, stay in Weatherford to enjoy the parks, museums, or other entertainment options. You should be able to find a hotel that's aptly priced due to a decrease in demand.
When you're on a tight budget or you just don't want to spend extra cash needlessly, Weatherford has plenty of hotels that offer discounts. At the Clarion Inn, AAA members and AARP members can enjoy substantial discounts while taking advantage of everything the hotel has to offer. The Clarion has a prime location, putting you near the historic Parker County Courthouse and the Doss Heritage and Culture Center.
With a stay here, you'll have access to a 24-hour fitness center, an indoor pool, a spa tub, and concierge services. When you get a hankering for some food or drink, you can head downstairs and grab a bite at the restaurant or a beverage at the bar and lounge. The Clarion also offers 24-hour room service for your convenience.
Another place to get a sizeable discount in Weatherford is at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites. Offering cut rates for government personnel, military personnel, and AAA members, you're sure to find a price that works for your budget. Each hotel room features cable television, free wireless internet, and a refrigerator. If you're a bit sore from exploring, hop into their jetted bathtub, which is sure to soothe your every ache.
Guests also have access to a full range of recreational amenities such as a sauna, an outdoor pool, a spa tub, and a barbecue grill. Don't forget to start your day off right with a free, hot continental breakfast.
For top-of-the-line amenities without a giant price tag, check out a few of Weatherford's value hotels. With a stay at the La Quinta Inn & Suites, you're right in the heart of Weatherford, while also being close to I-20. Each guest room offers a flat-screen television with cable programming, a desk to get some work done or browse the internet, and a microwave to heat up your leftovers. When you wake up, head to the outdoor pool or fitness center to get your daily dose of exercise.
If you manage to head to Weatherford in July, don't miss the annual Parker County Peach Festival. Each year, over 30,000 people take part in the event and stuff their faces with fresh peaches, peach cobbler, peach ice cream, and everything else to do with peach. There's also live music, children's activities, over 200 vendors, a bike ride, and even a dominoes tournament.
Any other time of the year, you can get your fill of peaches at the Weatherford Farmers Market. Throughout the year, the market offers seasonal produce from local growers, handmade crafts and trinkets, pottery, plants, flowers, and of course, peaches. Adjacent to the market, the outdoor furniture and western decor store offers goods that will transform your home into a little slice of Texas.
Once you've had all you can eat of nature's finest fruit, you may want to relax the next day. That's when you should hop on over to Splash Kingdom Wild West Family Waterpark. The park features plenty of family-friendly activities including water slides, a wave pool, a lazy river, and a kids' play area. You can even spend the entire day there thanks to an on-site restaurant that serves burgers, pizza, chicken tenders, ice cream, and more.
When it's too hot to go outside or the weather just won't cooperate, take a trip to the Vintage Grill and Car Museum. This spot is one of the stranger attractions throughout the state, coupling a bar and grill with an impressive car museum. The menu features some Southern favorites including chicken and waffles, mac 'n' cheese, and cheddar grits, as well as steaks, pastas, and more.
While you're waiting for a meal or after you're done, check out the car museum at no extra cost. Featured vehicles include a pair of Lincoln cars owned by President Lyndon B. Johnson, a 1930 Buick, and a 1948 Studebaker.
Whether you're searching for budget accommodations during a sporting event or a luxurious hotel for a romantic getaway or self-indulgent trip, Weatherford has the options you need to make the trip one you won't forget.
