The Stamford center point is about the area of Stamford Center for the Arts - Palace Theatre - Rich Forum and the area of Sacred Heart University: Stamford Campus.
It's hard to predict the weather in Stamford, Connecticut because it varies so much among the seasons. You can expect the hottest months to be July and August, with the colder temperatures hitting in January and February. The summer months are hot and humid and the winter is always cold and nearly always snowy. Make sure to plan your trip and activities to match with the season you decide to visit during.
However, if you are thinking of planning your visit based upon when the busy or downtimes are, visiting in December is the lowest tourism month of the year in Stamford, Connecticut. The second-lowest is March. More travelers come to the city in July than any other month followed by October, when the foliage is at its full height of beauty. Because more people are in the city visiting in July through October, those months also see higher prices in hotels and flights. The lower prices are during the winter months, like November and December, since the area is less popular during that time.
If you want a vacation away from it all and you plan to stay inside or be at museums, you could take advantage of smaller crowds and lower prices in the winter when tourism is at its low point. If there are certain outdoor activities or attractions you want to see and do, like exploring nearby New York City, going when the weather is agreeable is better for you.
If you are at a stage in life where you appreciate using your senior discount, there's nothing wrong with looking for a hotel that offers one. You should also find hotel options that utilize AAA discounts if you have that available to you. Here are a few options for you if you fit either of those criteria.
That AAA Discount comes in handy at the Courtyard by Marriott Stamford Downtown, for example. You are centrally located and just a few steps away from the Stamford Public Library and the Stamford Center for the Arts. Value is something you want in any transaction, but it's especially true when you stay in a hotel away from home. You need certain amenities, but you also want a good price at the same time. These hotels will give you good value for your money.
The Sheraton Stamford Hotel gives you a central location and access to the very close Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery. You can make yourself at home in the spacious guest rooms and appreciate the value of the space and its proximity to local activities.
It's not every day you can stay at a Hilton and feel you are getting a great value. The Hilton Stamford Hotel & Executive Meeting Center is great for families and business travelers alike. The meeting center allows business travelers to take meetings right there in the hotel. Other activities are within walking distance and the group rate for family reunions or business conferences helps curb bills.
If you are in the area, most people want to spend a day or more in New York City. There are so many sights to see, theater shows to visit, and restaurants to enjoy that it can be hard to stop once you get started. But when you stay in Stamford, there will be certain attractions you want to see close to your hotel as well.
The Franklin Street Works has an art space in the downtown portion of the city that can be very entertaining to browse. The Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery is the top contemporary art gallery in the state. If you have any interest in contemporary art, this is something you won't want to miss as you peruse international exhibits.
There are opportunities to enjoy music at certain times of the year, including when the Stamford Symphony Orchestra is in session. The Connecticut Grand Opera performs in the Palace Theatre as a non-profit organization and, in the summer, Alive @ Five operates in Columbus Park with a summer concert series.
For those who appreciate science and nature, the Stamford Museum and Nature Center sits on 118 acres on the north side of town and the Bartlett Arboretum and Gardens is beautiful in the spring and summer with over 850 species of trees, including the Champion Trees, which is the largest species in the state.
