The Fayetteville center is approximately the area of Downtown Fayetteville and the area of Headquarters House.
The best time to visit Fayetteville is from March to May, when the weather is pleasant and temperatures begin rising. This is the perfect time to explore one of the city's 70 parks, bike along a trail, or fish in Beaver Lake. It's also a great time to enjoy major events like the Block Street Block Party and Fayetteville Farmer's Market, which has been voted the fifth best in the nation. If you visit during these months, be sure to book your hotel in advance as this is peak season for the city.
In the summer, you can expect hot and humid weather with temperatures reaching highs of 90 degrees. Take advantage of the sweltering heat by swimming in one of Fayetteville's picturesque lakes or canoeing on one of its rivers. If it gets too hot, you can always cool off in the world-renowned Crystal Bridges Museum or popular Northwest Arkansas Mall. The best part? Hotel rates will be affordable and the city won't be nearly as crowded as it would be during the spring.
Between September and November, temperatures hover around 60 degrees making conditions perfect for enjoying everything Fayetteville has to offer. You can explore local breweries, see a drive-in movie, go bird watching, and even try vegetable picking. Hotel rates will be affordable throughout most of the season, except during University of Arkansas football weekends when the city explodes with fans.
From December to February the weather is cold, but there's still plenty to do around the city if you know where to look. You can enjoy holiday and winter festivals like Light of the Ozarks and Mardi Gras, or visit historic sites like the Clinton House Museum, Arkansas Air Museum, and Old Main. If shopping is more your style, you can spend time visiting Fayetteville's unique antique shops or checking out the stores at Dickson Street.
