The Loveland center point is around the area of Colorado Computer Museum and 1 mile northwest of Downtown Loveland.
The city is located in the Colorado Front Range region at the base of the foothills. Because of its location to one of the access routes to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, Loveland receives a significant amount of pass-through traffic, especially in the summer months. Loveland is the home of the Valentine Re-Mailing Program. For many years people from across the world have sent their valentines to Loveland, Colorado, to be hand-stamped, and a specially designed postal cancellation.
With its semi-arid climate, Loveland has relatively dry skies year-round, along with four distinct seasons. In July and August, temperatures usually reach the mid- to upper 80s, and you'll find temperatures in the 40s in December and January. May tends to be the rainiest month, and during the winter months, Loveland gets about 50 inches of snow.
Though you'll find great hiking weather in the summer and fantastic skiing weather in the winter, you might want to plan your Loveland visit around the city's many festivals instead. In February the Loveland Fire & Ice Festival heats up the chilly city with an ice sculpting competition, fireworks, fire dancing, live music, and much more. In April the Lifetree Film Fest focuses on doing good through film, with dozens of film screenings and special events. In August the ARISE Music Festival entertains guests with seven stages of musical performances, workshops, an art gallery, and theme camps.
