Killeen is a military town. Not terribly impressive. But it's got what you need, and the people are friendly.
I was there for a funeral service and not for sightseeing. However, the Wings Restaurant next to the facility was outstanding and highly recommend.

Killeen Texas is a central point of Texas. The beauty of this city is that it is just 45 minutes to a couple of hours away from all of the major cities in Texas.
