The Bethany Beach center is approximately 8 miles north of 126th Street Medical Centers and 10 miles north of 75th Street Medical Center.
The quaint town has a year-round population of just over a thousand people. However, during the summer months, another 15,000 or so tourists and seasonal residents travel to the area to breathe the healing salt water air and allow their minds and bodies to relax with the sound of the waves gently crashing into the beaches in the background. During the summer, Bethany Beach is a town with a beautiful boardwalk and sandy beaches that are perfect for basking in the sun's rays. After experiencing the serenity, you probably won't want to leave.
These are the best times to enjoy the things that make Bethany Beach so special, like Captain Jack's Pirate Golf or spending the day enjoying the warmth from the sun and a cool breeze under a brightly colored umbrella. Kids enjoy eating pizza on the boardwalk, and afterwards, they attend beachfront parties and watch movie with their families. Bands play live music on the weekends, and small crowds gather to listen to the talented local musicians.
A stroll down the famous boardwalk is captivating, and most days are sunny with only 76 rainy days per year in the coastal area. Even on the hottest days of the year, it is rarely over 85 degrees. However, the beach front community is starkly different during the winter when the average temperature is around 24 degrees. It is not exactly the weather one thinks of when day dreaming about the beach.
No matter when you plan to visit Bethany Beach, you can likely save money by checking for professional organization, military, and AAA discounts you qualify for and you can search for rooms you can apply these discounts to conveniently.

Bethany Beach is known for being "quiet" in comparison to better-known Rehoboth Beach or Dewey Beach, which are known for having a rowdy bar scene. The stillness in Bethany is soothing to the soul. So, there is something to be said for being able to stay in picturesque Bethany for your entire vacation.
A rented beach home seems to be the preferred lodging option for families visiting the summer shore. A beach house rental gives you access to your own space, which is always good. Plus, there are plenty of beach houses that easily sleep two families or a large group of friends. Renting a beach house with friends or family is the best way to save on your vacation.
If that option does not work for you, the Holiday Inn Express Bethany Beach is the next best value with beachfront access, free breakfast, maid service, and additional value added services you will actually use, so you can really save money.
In 1952, workers completed the Chesapeake Bay bridge and development of the island soared over the next years. During that time period, Bethany Beach gained popularity largely because of the diverse activities offered for visitors of all ages.
Other areas grew during this period as well, and the growth in these prime vacation destinations caused more people to visit Bethany Beach each year. Another attraction that lures people to Bethany Beach is Fenwick Island State Park, which offers swimming and surfing. Surfing is not allowed on Bethany Beach or many other beaches in the area during the busiest times of the year, so it's a great stop if you're looking for this activity. Likewise, dogs are also restricted from walking on the boardwalk during the summer months, so your dog will love a visit to the park.
The options for entertainment in the area really depend on what time of year you visit. During the hot summer months, movies play on Bethany Beach for families to enjoy under the stars.
During the winter, many people think there is no reason to visit the freezing beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. However, there are plenty of reasons to visit the peaceful pristine beaches anytime, including events and activities that locals hold year-round. If possible, the events during the winter are more relaxed than the summertime events.
So, whether you need inspiration for a creative project you are working on or you are craving a fresh-cooked meal with an ocean view, you will always find what you need here.

Below are reviews of the city of Bethany Beach, DE from an actual visitor's perspective.
It's all about the beach.
Very nice town
Its town center is very walkable and the area is clean. Traffic isn't crazy making it safe to walk on bike, walking paths. Shop owners are friendly.
The town was charming with lots of super cute shops and restaurants. The wholesome vibe of the town was welcoming and easy to drive around and so walker friendly. Was happy to see multigenerational families out and about.
It has always been a family destination.
The people, the food!
The room was clean, comfortable. The staff was friendly. The people were very friendly and kind.
Charming walkable beach town!
Bethany is a great beach town, more manageable than Rehoboth.
Friendly and quiet.
I think Bethany Beach is just right! Great restaurants, nice shops, boardwalk and main street with the best independent bookstore ever!
All the vendors you need are close. Bethany is a quiet little beach town with plenty of places for your guests to stay; get some blocks of rooms and there are also airbnbs to choose from. We got a house for the groomsmen right across the street from Addy Sea. Your guests can enjoy the beach (clean and safe), restaurants and more. We had a trolley from hotels and after the wedding they took our younger guests to Dewey Beach to continue the celebration. Rehoboth and Ocean City MD are also close by.
Have been coming here for years. This is truly a quiet, family oriented resort.
Everything you need; easy access to everything.
Didn't get to see much I was there for a wedding but while driving in I saw a lot of shops. I would like to come back to visit.
