Spring brings a variety of festivals celebrating arts and crafts, food, and wine. The weather is pleasant with comfortable temperatures despite occasional rain showers, and there are far fewer crowds. Hotel rates are often discounted due to lower visitor numbers. Fall is spectacular, with the colorful autumn foliage drawing visitors from far and wide.
Summer temperatures are mild, with highs of 73 to 83 degrees. It's a great time to be outdoors, taking advantage of the 120 acres of recreational parkland in the area, playing a round of golf, or trying out the facilities at the aquatic center. Visitor numbers are at their peak though, and accommodation is often booked out in advance.
Winter tends to be very cold, with significant snowfall. The nearest ski resort at Wintergreen is 117 miles away. What better time to visit the region's wineries, indulge in some retail therapy, and explore the local dining options?
