Dryden is in the Kenora District of Ontario, situated on Wabigoon Lake. Although it is the second-largest city in the district, it's actually the smallest designated city located within the province of Ontario. Dryden and neighboring Kenora are in the Central Time Zone and are the only cities within that time zone in the province. The city's name comes from the Minister of Agriculture in 1895, John Dryden.
