The Pismo Beach center point is approximately the area of The Park at Dinosaur Caves and 1 mile east of Landon Galleries.
With only 17 inches of rain annually and no snow, Pismo promises a sunny day 282 days a year. For the year-round average of 70o with a January low of 42o, a sweater should be enough most of the time and too much the rest of the time! If you're looking for a great Instagram or Snapchat picture, Pismo Beach can provide the perfect backdrop at any time. For more serious photographers, the gracious weather will help you make the most of your stay. You can find perfect ocean shots off the Pismo Pier (hold on to your hat; it's a bit windy out there), or on the Pismo Creek Trail. Birdwatchers will love the bird life on the Pismo Creek Trail, which begins at Addie and terminates at the ocean.
Pismo Beach gives you easy access to all the outdoor activities that the perfect climate typically allows year-round. You could begin your day with a kayaking trip after morning coffee, go hiking in the Montana de Oro State Park (a short drive away), visit the Monarch Butterfly Grove, one of the largest areas for wintering Monarch butterflies in the U.S., and end the day on a quiet fishing trip. Or maybe you'll be in the water all day catching the surf on your board and soaking in the sweet California sunshine!

Restaurants and shops in the center of town are family owned small businesses, not national chains. Restaurant and shop staff are friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed watching the surfers from the pier. Beaches are deep and wide with fine sand.
