The Eugene center is about the area of Saturday Market and the area of Downtown Eugene.
Eugene experiences a variety of weather throughout the year. The best time to visit the city is in the summer, especially between June and August. During these months, the weather is sunny, the skies are clear, and the high temperatures average in the mid- to lower 80s. These months are also the ideal time to explore the outdoor markets and check out the many festivals here. However, since the summer is the most popular time to visit, it's also the most expensive for lodging. Hotels will typically charge top dollar for rooms during the summer.
As summer comes to an end, the visitation season winds down in Eugene. If you're looking for a good deal on a hotel room, try planning your trip for the fall between September and November. While average high temperatures start out in the comfortable mid-70s in September, by November, the highs drop into the low 50s. Rainfall does increase during these months, and the area sometimes sees long stretches of damp, cloudy days.
Snowfall in the winter months is generally light in Eugene, and rain isn't uncommon. However, if you're a winter sports enthusiast, this weather shouldn't deter you from visiting between December and February. The mountains outside of the city receive plenty of snow during the winter, and the snow spectacle makes for a nice day trip. Plus, if you're looking for excellent deals on hotel rooms, these are the months to visit.
As spring rolls around in Eugene, the area starts to see rising temperatures, although scattered rain showers are still likely. The average high temperatures between March and May range between the upper 50s and the upper 60s, so it's important to pack layers if you're planning to visit during these months. While the weather is hit or miss, spring is another good time to visit if you want a deal on a hotel since rates typically do not rise until the summer crowds arrive.
