We loved Black Bear Diner. There are great places within 20 miles to go rock hounding (that's why we were there). Calico Ghost Town is just a 20 minute drive and if you enjoy historical places it's fun to explore. Also the Barstow Train Museum; so much wonderful rich history about the trains and wonderful restored train cars to explore.
