The Cave Creek center point is around 3 miles west of Carefree Sundial and 7 miles northeast of Cave Buttes Recreation Area.
Cave Creek has a hot desert climate with very hot summers and mild winters in one of the world's sunniest regions. The most comfortable times to visit are from November through April, when high temperatures range from the upper 60s to the low 80s. Hotel prices will be highest at this time, but you can get slightly lower rates if you travel at the beginning or end of this time period and book your room two or three months ahead of time.
If you don't mind the heat of May through October, you could score some low room rates, especially if you travel in the hottest part of the summer, between mid-June and mid-August, when you'll often see temperatures over 100 degrees. Traveling in May or October will strike a compromise between the heat and high rates, as high temps will range from the low 80s to the mid-90s, and you'll see a slight dip in hotel rates.

Below are reviews of the city of Cave Creek, AZ from an actual visitor's perspective.
Quiet, relaxed and welcoming!
Less traffic than Scottsdale, choice of restaurants, Western flavor!
Unique shops and great places to eat!
While in Cave Creek, we check out the quaint shops at Frontier Town (that's where we attended a family wedding as well - good venue for a wedding), Big Earl's for lunch (although not for the faint of heart - the best of greasy food) and went to the rodeo. I'm not a big fan of rodeos, but if you like that sort of thing, you will like it. Great mountain hiking in and around Cave Creek.
