Wilmington is a nice city.
Tax-free shopping! Countless choices to shop and dine! Countryside for miles surrounding Brandywine Creek up to Chadds Ford, Pa. is as beautiful as it gets! Chadds Ford is also home to Brandywine Art Museum which features works by the Wyeth family.
Nice restaurant and shopping areas.
We walked the downtown riverwalk and thought it was beautiful. There was reasonable traffic and convenient dining.
Five DuPont estates and gardens all less than a 20 minute drive.

downtown was very cool, the riverfront had a great industrial look. Riverfront walk and great restaurants!

Winterthur and Longwood Gardens were spectacular! I saw the exhibit at Winterthur of costumes from Downton Abbey (available until January 4, 2015). It was magnificent.
