The Albany-Rensselaer Amtrak Rail Station is located one-and-a-half miles from downtown Albany, New York, across the Hudson River. The station is operated by the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA). Buses, car rentals, and taxi services are available at the station.The Albany-Rensselaer station is served by Amtrak's northeastern routes, including Adirondack, Empire Service, Ethan Allen Express, Lake Shore Limited, and Maple Leaf. All trains – except the Boston branch of the Lake Short Limited – have southbound service to Penn Station in New York City.The station features a Coffee Beanery coffee shop, a post office, a newsstand, and a waiting area. Restrooms, payphones, and baggage assistance are available during station hours. The station is conveniently located near a number of excellent hotels, many with complimentary shuttle service to and from the station.
