Lots of history in Sumter. The Beautiful Swan Lake is a must see!
Sumter is an old southern town going through a tremendous revitalization effort. It offers a few nice restaurants and bars, a brewery, and very friendly people. Because it is next to Shaw Air Force Base, it caters a great deal to the military folks based there.
It is a very pretty town, very clean, nice place to have a wedding.
Historic downtown Sumter is nicely maintained. I enjoyed the fountains and holiday decorations.
We had a drama competition at the opera house. The town is super cute though.
Both the Public Recreation Park and Sweet Shop were great.
