The Fairmont Golden Prague is a significant example of Central European Brutalist architecture, designed by Karel Filsak between 1968 and 1974. Located in the historic center of Prague along the banks of the Vltava River (known as Moldau in German), this iconic hotel provides guests with stunning river views. It has also welcomed U.S. Presidents Richard Nixon and George W. Bush, as well as Secretaries of State Madeleine Albright and Hillary Rodham Clinton.The hotel itself showcases a blend of concrete, glass, and wood, embodying a carefully crafted "Gesamtkunstwerk," where every detail reflects artistic intent. In 2019, company R2G Heritage purchased the hotel and in 2020 initiated a major top-to-bottom renovation, investing over 130 million euros.
