Have been to Brattleboro many times since the '70's. There are many more interesting boutiques & places to eat. There's a small but excellent art museum. The architecture is interesting. I call it the San Francisco of the East with it's hills & "painted ladies" (Victorian houses).
We were in area for Marlboro Music Festival and went to Woodstock to visit Sugarbush Farms.
Proximity to Mohawk Trail in Massachusetts.
We were visiting in Keene so the distance and price is what drew us to your hotel.

Brattleboro has a lot to offer for shopping, exploring and restaurants. The Saturday Farmers Market was excellent !
