Spring and fall also tend to be popular seasons in Duluth, especially for visitors seeking lower hotel prices.
Though it gets cold in the winter, Duluth also draws crowds of winter sports lovers in December and January. If you visit during this season, expect to pay lower room rates, and plan to bundle up to stave off the temperatures that hover around zero degrees.

And this sort of practical romanticism and love for the world around him is indicative of how it feels to live in the booming and enjoyable city of Duluth. Even Duluth hotels hold this charm, but it's not just a simple country burg. The city is one the largest cities on the shores of Lake Superior. This city also shares a border with Canada making it a place where culture and tourism is exchanged regularly. But what really sets the place apart is the sense of the nature poised right at the city's edge.
Because Duluth is such a down home kind of place there are loads of places where one can find cheap hotels. One of the more commonly patronized places in the city is the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Duluth-Downtown. This is a comfortable place that is outfitted with many amenities without a high price point. As the name implies the hotel is located downtown in Duluth and is right near the city's skywalk system and only a few miles from the popular Canal Park. Some of the features of this hotel include flat-screen cable TVs, free Wi-Fi, coffeemakers, stylish suites, and mini-fridges. Another one of the cheap hotels in this city is the simple and understated Motel 6. This lodging is right of interstate 35 and about a 5-minute walk to the waterfront.
However, there are also many luxury Duluth hotels in the city. One of the more popular polished pearls is the Beacon Pointe Resort, a place that is built to let guests take in a sumptuous view of the city. This hotel is a kind of a beach house property that overlooks Lake Superior and right near the popular Lakewalk and the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. This domicile features elegant and yet laidback rooms with its own private balconies, flat-screen TVs, and each suite features its own kitchenette. Another one of the luxury hotels in Duluth is the Sheraton Duluth Hotel. This place is also located on Lake Superior's shore and near the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. It has a straightforward look but features a lake view, wet bars, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs.
There are plenty of little cabins all around the city but one of the hotels in Duluth that stands out from the others is the South Pier Inn. This boutique hotel is an inspired attempt at authenticity while at the same time including some groundbreaking modern indulgences. This includes the addition of the Aerial Lift Bridge. This establishment is located right near the waterfront and the canal and a short trip away from the Great Lakes Aquarium. Some of the amenities that this hotel offers include ensuite bathrooms, balconies with an awesome view, TVs, free Wi-Fi, and mini-fridges with the addition of a continental breakfast for you stay. This hotel offers a comforting rustic feel and everything you need to relax.
