The Baglio Oneto of the Princes of San Lorenzo is a Luxury Wine Resort built from an ancient noble residence from the 1700s. The fabulous 5 Star Resort is located in Marsala on a hill 150mt above sea level and only 8 Km from the beach. Its dominating position allows a spectacular view of the sea, Egadi Islands and the Natural Reserve of the Stagnone up to Mount Erice on one side and Capo Boeo on the other. The term "baglio" derives from Arabic and means "Fortified House". Baglio Oneto is protected by high walls and was founded in the 1700's for the production of wine, oil and fresh produce. Even today, under the careful management of the family, 8 types of wine including the famous Marsala DOC meditation wine and extra virgin olive oil are produced. The aromatic herbs that grow inside the Baglio give the restaurants dishes the ancient flavors of Sicilian tradition.Today the Resort consists of 49 rooms, a restaurant, a bar and a panoramic swimming pool with a view of the sea and islands. Specialized staff will accompany guests to their reserved room: Superior Room category overlooking Marsala's countryside, Deluxe with sea view, Junior Suites with private lounge and the original Tower Room. The rooms, renovated in 2020, show the colors of the most authentic Sicilian tradition and show elegant furnishings in ceramic, wrought iron, and precious wood. Rooms are equipped with the most innovative home automation (Samsung Smart TV, Dorelan Memory Foam Mattresses, etc) and comforts, all have a balcony or patio, the floors are tiled. Not only comfort and hospitality but also gourmet cuisine at "La Calandra" restaurant with Italian and typical Sicilian dishes, combined with the best Italian wines and those produced by Baglio Oneto of the Princes of San Lorenzo. The wine tasting tour is strongly recommended.
