This town is well known for its annual Reading Festival, many people flock here in August to see and hear some amazing live music. For visitors who enjoy the outdoors Forbury Gardens is a great place to enjoy a nice afternoon stroll, and don't forget to stop by the Maiwand Lion! These gardens are a Victorian formal garden which lead to the ruins of Reading Abbey. Reading Gaol is also worth a visit - it was the place Oscar Wilde was imprisoned. Due to the towns large student population there is quite a lot of things going on here in the evening. With endless options of fine dinging restaurants, stylish bars and clubs, visitors will be spoilt for choice.
